Meet Scott Roe, our beloved Campus Director

For the last 15 years Scott has served on the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ to invest his life in university students, because he knows that students are critical to shaping the world of tomorrow. Scott loves Madison and can think of no better place to dedicate his life than on the UW campus helping students develop and live out a relationship with Jesus.

His main attention though is directed toward his wife Bonnie. She's the one with the good looks, charm, and intelligence. Scott and Bonnie met as students at the University of Minnesota and have been serving together in ministry ever since. They've been married since their wedding day. Together they have two darling daughters, Julia and Brenna.

Scott is serious about the mission at the UW, but that may not always be obvious as he is quick to joke (even if others don't recognize the humor immediately), laugh, and compete in any number of games like football, Ultimate, "king of the raft", Chess, Settlers of Caton, and cards. So if you are pulling out a Volleyball or board game or are figuring out how you can make a difference for Christ on campus, consider getting Scott involved in your game plan.

Bonnie Roe

God radically changed my life and reason for living as a college student at the University of Minnesota.  I earned degrees in Journalism and Political Science and had ambitions to be an investigative reporter.  My junior year I met a student who explained how I could know God personally.  I thought I already did, but I sure wasn’t living it out.  I began to grow spiritually and God showed me how temporal our lives are here.  I started wanting to live for God and allow Him to use me for His plan and glory instead of my own.

I spent some time overseas and met people in far off places who had never even heard of Jesus.  God began to cultivate a desire in me to see the Good News of Jesus spread to every corner of the world—and who better to take it than college students or recent grads?  By my senior year I began to see how strategic college students could be in reaching the world for Christ.

It was also during those life-changing years at the U of M that I met the love of my life, Scott.  We got married and began working full-time with Campus Crusade for Christ.  Sixteen years later, a few things have changed.  We now have two little girls who are such a delight to us!  I love being a part of a ministry that values family and we’re as passionate as ever about college students and the Gospel going to the ends of the Earth.

I love having students over to our home for a meal or to play games.  I also enjoy biking with the girls in the bike trailer, horseback riding, water sports and watching 24 with Scott.
