How To Pray There is no one correct way to pray. Just prepare your heart to be sincere. Prayer should be something you want to do, and if it's not, then ask God to give you a desire for prayer. Remember that God tells us that we can approach him with boldness (Luke 11), and remember also that you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, 'Abba, Father.'" (Galatians 4:6), so we can approach God without fear, as his dear child.
Say what comes to your mind. Your heart will guide you and God knows what you mean. Remember that prayer is talking with God, not at God. Let Him have time to respond.
People pray in different ways. What is important is talking with God--He loves it! Check what the Bible has to say about prayer--that our prayers are kept in bowls of incense around God's throne (Revalation 5:8). Isn't that an awesome picture?!
Types Of Prayer There are two major types of prayer. Individual prayer is where you pray by yourself, and can be, but doesn't have to be, alone. Group prayer is where you pray aloud in a group. One person may lead the prayer, or the members can take turns, or everyone may pray at once.
